The World Bicycle Relief Buffalo Award

We have a brand new trophy to hand out at this year’s RADL GRVL and it’s the most powerful accolade in the Adelaide Hills. Introducing: The World Bicycle Relief Buffalo Award!

Presented to a gravel cyclist who, over the previous 12 months, has demonstrated exceptional levels of community spirit and inclusion, The Buffalo Award recognises those who are making a difference in the lives of the people around them.

Nominations are now open so visit the link below and enter! The winner will be announced at our event on 24 January.

Riders attending RADL GRVL 2025 are invited to nominate themselves or an individual for the World Bicycle Relief Buffalo Award, to be presented for the first time this year.

The Power of Bicycles

Nearly 1 billion people around the globe lack access to reliable transportation, trapping them in a cycle of poverty.

At RADL GRVL, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to ride, regardless of income status, ethnicity, gender, or age.

That's why we are partnering with World Bicycle Relief for this year's Tour Down Under. Together, we can reduce inequality and give more people the chance to harness the Power of Bicycles.

All funds raised through this partnership will support World Bicycle Relief’s programs in Africa and South America, and ensure that more Buffalo Bicycles can be distributed to people in rural communities, enabling improved access to education, healthcare, and livelihood opportunities.

  • “With World Bicycle Relief as our charity partner for the 2025 RADL GRVL, we are creating opportunities for people in low-income communities around the world to own a bicycle. Access to transport means students can complete their education, healthcare workers can reach patients, and business owners can improve their incomes. For rural families, a bicycle can be life changing.” - Amy Charity, Founding Partner and CEO of GRVL
